Been Busy Knitting

I haven't been here lately since I have been knitting a couple of baby blankets for my 2 new Great-Nephews that were born a few weeks ago. No, they are not twins...lol One baby is from my Niece and her husband and the other baby is from my Nephew and his wife. They are beautiful babies. When I get the green baby blanket done I will post a picture of it soon. It's all most finished!

Holy Cow It's Been So Long!

Well, it's been a very long time since I have written anything on here at Moo Knits. To sum it up I have been in and out of the hospital, things going on with family, not so good there, and my knitting has become a stand still!

I am going to be starting a how to Sock Knit-Along on my group Dancin' Needles this week. I am planning several stages of how to Sock Knit-Alongs from dpns to ML, so that should be interesting.

In the mean time I am going to try to find something for me to knit besides a pair of socks. I did find a adorable monkey to knit, so that is probably what I am going to work on soon. All I have to do is get the yarn.

I'll try real hard to write on Moo Knits more often.

So, that is my plans for this fall.

Happy Knitting!

Summer Begins

It's summer here in Southern California, and it's been getting up to 95/100 here already. This is just the beginning of summer, and I am real thrilled to see 112+ temperatures for the summer months ahead...NOT!!! Thank god that our A/C is working good!

Well, this month I had a little injury. I had pulled the muscles on my right lower side and back toward the hip. It's ok now, and I think I can get back to knitting again. I have really missed knitting. It was just too painful to hold up the needles and knit. I've a doggy sweater started, but now I have to switch to a circular needles to do the next part of the sweater. I have to order the needles from Jo Anns.com, which incidentally has a sale on right now. I have also switched from English style knitting to Continental style knitting, and I am still new to the new style. I saw this tool called a Yarn Guide at Herrschners.com. It's for keeping any type of yarn separate for fast, uniform stitching, so I figure it will help me keep the yarn on my left index finger, as I purl the stitches. Purling is the problem with me knitting Continental style right now until I get the hang of it.

I have a beautiful puppy name Dakota, and she's going to be 5 months on July 7th. I guess the heat got to her this week, as she wasn't feeling so good, and wouldn't eat, so hubby said to wet her down, and it worked! We have a happy puppy again. She is eating, playing, and just having a lot of puppy fun.

Dakota at 10 weeks old

The book I was reading when I started this Blog was The Kissing Blade by Jessica Hall. It was a very good book, and the ending was a wonderful love story. I've started another book called Texas Rich by Fern Michaels. It too is a love story. It's set in WW ll time about a young girl meets older boy that is a pilot in the Navy. I'll let ya know what happens when I finish it.

I want to thank Melanie, Mandy, and Kim for their encouraging words for my efforts of starting my new Blog.

Happy Knitting & Reading!
